As the interior designer for this brand-new ground-up project, Pickett Design Associates selected all interior architectural finishes, public area furnishings as well as decorative lighting as part of our pro bono work. To create a positive and family-friendly environment, primary colors were specifically chosen as accent colors to convey a sense of optimism and enthusiasm to its residents. Upward Bound House is a non-profit transitional housing and services agency for families with minor dependent children. This 21-unit housing complex is situated in the heart of Santa Monica’s residential community. With goals of helping families stay together while achieving personal and financial goals, the program gives each family a dignified and high-quality living experience in a safe community.
