Located on a quiet street in Sherman Oaks, California, this one-story bungalow style home was significantly damaged in the 1994 Northridge earthquake. This was a particularly challenging project as the timing was unexpected. The owners decided to completely rebuild and expand the size of the home which gave us the opportunity to make a considerable design impact. As part of the new construction, the project included custom cabinetry and windows with new flooring, lighting, fixtures and finishes throughout the home. Existing pieces were salvaged by having them re-upholstered. Our Designer worked alongside the Architect from demolition until the move-in and it is satisfying to us that the place looks as good today as the day we finished. The anticipated challenge became a pleasant working relationship with two clients that have remained repeat customers and our friends today.
