As part of a major program to update their hospitals statewide, the replacement hospital at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center at Panorama City features state-of-the-art facilities. The latest concepts in patient-centered care is accommodated in the ER, Radiology, ORs, Med Surg, ICU and Birthing Center (with NICU). To foster the established spirit of communities coming together, we implemented a quilt concept into the art program and wayfinding solutions.
The public corridor is the main North/South access link to the new building connecting the public to the building amenities and major destination points. In addition to signage, ease of wayfinding is enhanced by the designer’s choice of lighting levels, color distribution, material selections, architectural features and strategic artwork placement.
